Pop singer Olivia Rodrigo has announced that she will be donating the proceeds from her upcoming music festival to several organizations that provide or support abortion.

Tickets for the festival, Daisy Chain Fields, sold out in under 30 minutes, with 100 percent of net proceeds to go to organizations that include Planned Parenthood and the Center for Reproductive Rights. The festival will take place in Irvine, Ca., on Aug. 29, 2026.

Rodrigo has been a vocal supporter of abortion since the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, saying during one of her concerts after the Supreme Court decision that “I'm devastated and terrified that so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this.”

In 2024, Rodrigo started an organization called Fund 4 Good that funds abortion providers. She invited several beneficiaries to vend at her concert and encouraged them to hand out contraceptives and morning-after pills to concertgoers.

“We live in a world that politicizes our bodies and uses harmful ideologies to deny us safety and health care,” Rodrigo said recently. “And it breaks my heart to think that, because of oppressive laws and outdated policies, some of those girls may not get to follow their dreams the way I’ve been able to follow mine.”

Rodrigo said this in the context of abortion. In an article for Vogue magazine, Rodrigo called the increase in pro-life laws “sickening” and the possibility that women might be “forced to give birth if they get pregnant” in the present day “a terrifying reality.”

To Rodrigo, children aren’t blessings. They’re inconveniences. And being forced to give birth to an inconvenience? Well, that’s terrifying.

But Rodrigo is wrong. Women can follow their dreams even after they are pregnant. In fact, many find that they are living a dream they never realized they had after giving life to a human being.

In her effort to support women and girls, Rodrigo entirely misses the resilience and encouragement that women in difficult circumstances actually need.
